The Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic is a private, non-profit mental health agency which has been serving the Central and South Los Angeles communities for over 80 years. The Clinic's mission is to provide children ages 0–25, and their families, with quality mental health services by ensuring easy access and promoting early intervention; and the organization is noted for its expertise in treating seriously disturbed children whose level of impairment places them at risk for foster care placement, school failure, high utilization of mental health services, and involvement in the criminal justice system. An extensive array of family-focused mental health services is provided by culturally competent staff at three community-based service locations, school-sites and in families' homes.

Intervening early on in a child's life to prevent future problems is a crucial aspect of the agency's mission, therefore, through its Early Intervention and Community Wellness Division the Clinic has developed and implemented a range of specialized programs for children 0–5, and their families.

The Atlas Family Foundation provides funding to support the programming of the Early Intervention and Community Wellness Division, including a no-fee, no-appointment Walk-In Clinic and a school-based intervention and treatment program located on-site at 11 Head Start Centers. to support early intervention and prevention services for at-risk families with children aged 0–3; the Walk-In Clinic, First Steps Program, MAT Assessments and Early Intervention Trainings.
