Janet Schulman, Interim Executive Director
At its inception in 1987, Westside Children's Center (WCC) began providing foster care and family reunification services to children from birth to eight years of age who experienced child abuse or neglect. Today, WCC has expanded its vision to "a world where children and their families thrive in stable, permanent homes and live in safe, nurturing communities." Toward this end, the agency currently supports underserved, vulnerable children and their families in West Los Angeles through a wide variety of flexible, multidisciplinary, integrated and culturally-sensitive programs. Service elements include early care and education, special needs, child development, foster care and adoption, family support, Family Preservation, prevention, infant and family mental health, mental health consultations and referrals, evaluation and research, advocacy, and partnerships with other community-based organizations.
The Atlas Family Foundation provides funding for partial salary support for the Child Development Specialist and Health Services Coordinator on the Center's multi-disciplinary Family Support Services team.
