Founded over twenty-five years ago, ZERO TO THREE works to influence what happens to a child in the first three years of life through:
- Promoting the discovery and application of new knowledge, novel approaches, and best practices concerning early child development,
- Stimulating effective service approaches and responsive policies,
- Fostering professional excellence through training and related activities, and
- Informing parents and other caregivers about significant differences they can make in the lives of babies and young children.
The Atlas Family Foundation has provided general operating funding to facilitate the establishment and on-going infrastructure support for the Western Regional Office, located in Los Angeles, California. Through this venture, Zero to Three seeks to pursue a vision of good health, strong families and positive learning experiences for all California's babies and toddlers, and support professionals, programs, parents, policy makers and all those working to make this vision a reality. More specifically, ZTT is serving as a resource to the many pre-natal-to-three initiatives now taking place in California; connecting funders, program leaders, advocates, and policy makers around critical early childhood issues; and bring the California perspective to bear on ZTT's national work.
To provide support for costs associated with the hiring and compensation of a full-time Director for the Western Regional office.
